Recruitment Drive For SAPS
01 October 2008

Worknow in association with South African Police Services have set up a project to assist SAPS find candidates for new police positions in Hout Bay.   The WorkNow database was used to contact suitable candidates and field workers placed in Imizamo Yethu and Hangberg to identify possible candidates.

"The main problem we found was that many people in these poor communities do not have driving licences which is a re requisite for the SAPS application.   It is catch 22 as they don't have the means to get a driving license either" says Director Jeremy Rich.

The original message from Capt van Den Bergh of Hout Bay SAPS is as follows

The ball is now in our court !!!!!

We all complain about manpower shortages at Hout Bay SAPS. Now is the change the get us up to par again.

Please take note that Hout Bay is one of the only stations which received 35 posts. At long last we might get enough to do proper policing.

This is the only change for us to get more members. If we don't recruit now, we might loose these posts.

We need all to help with this enormous recruitment drive. For each post I need 15 applications. This means we need 525 applications.

Please use all your contacts, family, friends, employees etc to try to get applications of all races and genders between ages 18-35.

Applicants don't have to stay in Hout Bay, but as long as they apply for Hout Bay SAPS.

We only have 4 weeks left to recruit.

These recruits are for Hout Bay SAPS and not for other areas.

Any enquiries must be directed to Insp Tanya Lesch, Hout Bay SAPS, tel 021-7918660.
