Employer Conduct

Your responsibilities as an employer:

Please could you read through the following before signing on as a member of our valued "employer team".

1.         We have interviewed all the candidates on our programme, have their ID numbers on file and have checked references wherever possible. We do not do routine police checks, but if requested, have the facility to run a check at the local Police Station.

2.         We must, however, stress that we are an agency of work, a facilitator, not the employer. While we will do our best to sort out any problems, we cannot be held responsible for issues that may arise while in your employ. We do not do routine police checks, but if requested will gladly do so for you on any of our employees.

3.         We are a non-profit organisation and all the money earned goes to the employee in full. Please pay them the agreed rate on the day of work (or at the end of a period of work, should they work for more than one day). Cash or cash cheque would be preferable as many of them do not have bank accounts.

4.         Our working hours are as follows:  8 hours maximum, including 15 mins morning and afternoon break and half an hour for lunch.  If possible, it would be appreciated if something could be provided for lunch, especially for domestic workers/gardeners, but if this will not be possible, please let us know when making your booking.

5.         Please make all bookings through our office as we need to record the number of days worked for the department of social services. Please do not arrange repeat work directly with any of our employees.

6.         We will call you after each job, to ensure you are happy with the service provided. Our office manager is Denise and she is available on 790 1539 or 076 265 3855. Should you experience any problems with the office, please call Tania on 083 3266352.

7.         Should you wish to take on an employee full-time, please note that you will be liable to register them for UIF (2% of monthly wage). Anyone working for you for more than 3 full days a month qualifies for UIF. For further information please consult the website on www.labour.gov.za.  We would appreciate you letting us know if they leave your employ so we can adjust our work days records.
